Let's Work Together

To Build for the Future.

Our Future.

Our name, “Daruma,”
comes from a traditional Japanese doll,
often recognized as a symbol of persistence and resistance against adversity.

These are the core concepts and philosophy of our organization and working ethics towards our goal, since it requires time and effort from all of us to win this big fight against homelessness and poverty.

We Fight Against Homelessness

On every given night, more than 500,000 individuals are sleeping on streets, without a roof over their head.
We have been aware and addressing this crisis for decades now, and our government has conducted numerous programs to solve this problem, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. In fact, the problem is worsening, with almost no solution in sight.

SD Daruma Inc. was founded by our founder, Masayuki Ueda, followed by the establishment of our brother nonprofit organization, NPO Daruma, with eagerness to help those in need, and a belief that we can put an end to this long fight against homelessness and poverty by working together.

Our Vision

We work with our brother nonprofit organization, NPO Daruma, to establish an equitable, sustainable, and flourishing economic cycle and an enduring comprehensive system which promises stability and continuous growth for everyone.

We Don’t Just Work for Them.
We Work With Them.

While NPO Daruma focuses on its readiness programs to help homeless individuals prepare to come back to the society as a productive, independent, self-reliant member, our main focus here at SD Daruma Inc., is the development of infrastructure to be the substantial foundation for this prosperous socio-economic system, through the development of a new compact town centering a railroad station and the redevelopment of areas currently occupied by encampments.

These development will not only be the place where those in need build their independent lives upon once completed, but more importantly, it will create jobs and opportunities at these sites where they can enjoy the benefit from their acquired skills through the readiness programs provided by NPO Daruma and its partners, and supply the initial and continuous source of stable income as they prepare for the future.

100% of the Daruma Inc.’s profit will be given back to the community and used for public good and greater social schemes.

Where Everyone Has
a Place To Call Home,

We will also work to develop the accessible, more sophisticated transportation system which connects these compact towns and promotes accessibility and mobility for further economic growth.
